MICROBLADING
microblading
Microblading is the manual technique of creating hair like strokes in the brow with a U-shaped blade consisting of very fine needles. Unlike a traditional tattoo, Microblading is considered semi-permanent; and typically lasts 1-3 years depending on skin type and skincare routine. Touch-ups are recommended annually to maintain them looking fresh. Microblading can dramatically correct or reconstruct the brow and excellent for those looking for a natural, fuller, realistic looking brow!

Microblading FAQ
Am I a good candidate for microblading?
Microblading is best for normal to dry skin types. Oily skin will not take the pigment as well and the hair strokes will bleed together and cause them to appear blurry and faded; this skin type is better suited for powder brows.
Certain medical conditions and lifestyles will also determine if you are a good candidate. Microblading is NOT suitable for the following:
-Pregnant or breastfeeding
-Using Accutane
-Have had Botox, or chemical peel in the last 2 weeks.
-Allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine or epinephrine
-Have diabetes or any other serious medical condition may require a physician's note
-Prone to keloids or have rosacea
How long does microblading take?
The first session should take 2-3 hours. During this session your brows will be custom-mapped to fit your individual face structure and desired brow shape. Pigment and hair stroke placement is discussed and selected to match your natural features.
How long is the healing process?
It takes 1-2 weeks for your brows to heal over and about a month for the color to fully set in. Your brows will change a lot during this time because we are working in the top layer of the skin. They will get very dark slightly scab, get very light, then the true color will shine through. During this process the brows will shrink about 10% in size and the color will fade about 30%. We will send you home with proper aftercare at your appointment.
What is the 6-8 week touch-up for ?
The 6-8 week touch-up is to assure the integrity of the brow shape and pigment. Think of it as coats of paint - typically two coats are always necessary for full saturation and evenness. Also, we all heal differently, have different skin types and skincare routines so at the touch-up we look at each individual stroke to make sure its' perfect. After that annual touch-ups are recommended to maintain your new brows.
Is the touch- up necessary?
YES! The initial touch-up is necessary to ensure your brows have healed properly and have held onto the pigment. Certain areas my not pick up during the first session and will need to be refilled. If you choose not to get annual touch-ups your brows will just gradually fade. Everyones skin maintains pigment differently.
Is microblading painful?
This depends on your pain tolerance. Microblading is done with a manual blade in which we do two passes to implant the pigment. Numbing is always applied before the second pass and if needed we can apply a topical numbing cream before the first pass. You can take Tylenol before or after the appointment but not aspirin or ibuprofen.
Will this take care of all other brow maintenance?
No. Microblading is definitely life changing, but it will not take care of all other brow needs. For example, you still will wax your brows, or may tint, henna or laminate them if desired after they are healed. Which can all be taken care of at LIV Beauty.
What if microblading isn’t bold enough for me?
Microblading will give you the most natural results and it is important to trust the process. If you are wanting them bigger, bolder or darker, that can be done at your 6-8 week touch- up. Remember we can always add more, but cannot take away.
