Pre-Waxing Tips

GROW YOUR HAIR OUT

The longer the better. We recommend not shaving for 2-3 weeks prior to your wax, or let your hair grow to at least the length of a grain of rice. 

MOISTURIZE

We recommend moisturizing the area for a couple of days before your appointment (avocado or jojoba oil are both great.) Dry skin can make waxing a bit more painful, so using moisturizer ahead of time will ensure a better experience!

EXFOLIATE

Gently exfoliate the days or weeks leading up to your wax to remove dead skin around your follicles. DO NOT exfoliate the day of your wax.

AVOID INTENSE HEAT OR HOT WATER

The day of your wax, avoid saunas, hot baths, tanning, or hot yoga. A warm shower is perfectly fine, just nothing hot or steamy!

TELL US ABOUT MEDICATIONS

Let us know if you are being treated by a doctor, taking medication, or using prescription skin-care products. And please inform us of any previous adverse reactions to waxing.

Post-Waxing Tips

THE FIRST 24 HOURS

Avoid exercise, hot tubs, sex, hot springs, saunas, tanning and hot showers. Keep your skin clean and wear clean loose-fitting clothes. Try not to touch your skin too much and follow proper after-care recommend by your esthetician.

2-3 DAYS AFTER

Exfoliate! You may start gently exfoliating to prevent ingrown hairs. We recommend using an exfoliating glove or gentle body scrub in the shower. It’s important to proactively prevent, ingrown hairs we highly recommend purchasing our mit, scrub, serum and oil to take care of your wax.

ONE WEEK LATER

You may notice a small amount of re-growth! It can take up to four waxing treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives the best results. DO NOT shave between appointments, or you will never see the benefits of waxing.

I have my period, can I still get a bikini wax?

Yes. We just suggest that clients wear a tampon during the service. You may be a little more sensitive.

What is the difference between a bikini and a Brazilian?

The basic bikini removes the hair that would fall outside of your average swimsuit line. With the Brazilian you can either take everything off or leave a small shape on top.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. All appointments must be booked through Vagaro. You can book an appointment online here.

What is your cancellation policy?

 24 hours. If you are unable to cancel 24 hours in advance, you will be charged for 50% of the service. See our salon policies here.
